Soy wax is completely a vegetable-based wax derived from the oil of soybeans. Soy burns cleaner and is environmentally friendly do to its low soot output. Also, the wooden wicks are safe for home and family. 

Often, the tops of a new soy candle will look smooth and cloudy until the first burn. After its first burn, the tops will be uneven, flaky or rough looking due to the characteristic of 100% pure soy wax. 

When lighting the wooden wick angle the container then light the bottom of the wick (where the wick and wax meet) with a lighter ONLY!   

To relight simply use your fingers to snap off the burnt part of the wick, then relight.
